Who We Are
Hope City Church is a non-denominational church in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. We are a church that is serious about loving God with all of our hearts and loving each other well. Yet, we don't take ourselves too seriously. Our hope is to have a church filled with regular people–in all walks of life–learning to be satisfied that Jesus is enough for our hungry and broken hearts.
Hope City officially began in February of 2020. Of course, there is a back story! In the early summer of 2019 Hopewell Baptist Church approached Vineyard Community Church. Hopewell had a long history of faithfulness (planted in 1830) and sensed it had reached the finish line. Hopewell asked if Vineyard (a relatively young congregation) would be interested in moving their congregation to University Blvd to begin ministry in that part of the city. After a season of prayer and discussion, Hope City Church was born.
We are a member of the Association of Vineyard Churches as well as the Grow Network for Churches.
